Christmas comes to the castle!

Heres a very short post to let you know about the planned christmas event coming to town later this year. Yes, I know its August 🙂 We first heard about the plan way back before the pandemic threw a spanner in the works. The planned Christmas Market was actually hoped for last year however with lockdowns and social distancing the Town Council had no choice but to drastically scale back the events calendar.

With all the doom and gloom its fantastic to hear that in 2021 Hertford festive events will return and this year with something extra special! Its confirmed that for the first time Hertford will host its own traditional Christmas market from the 26th – 28th November on the Castle Lawn.

The three day event organised by Hertford Town Council will be FREE to enter and will feature traditional chalet style stalls selling and array of gifts, crafts, homewares .. everything you could hope for from a festive market. Opening times will be through the day and into the early evening with Christmas food, music and of course mulled wine.

Based on the image used by the town council this looks amazing. I think the real magic will come in the form of Hertford Castle as the backdrop and will be great to see it lit up at night, with the stalls, sounds, smells and Hertford atmosphere to get everyone in the mood for the fastive season!

The market will open on the 26th November which is the same day as the Christmas Gala and light switch on (in its traditional place in the market square). I am really please both things are going ahead and not a case of either / or.

Its going to be an amazing time and I love Hertford will, of course keep you up to date with all the latest details and news.
