What have we been up to?
I wanted a way that members and the public can drop in at any time and see what I love Hertford has been up to in the community. This page will give a glimpse on a weekly basis, a bit like a diary of sorts through the seasons. I Love Hertford has been around supporting town for a number of years now however for this diary we are starting from November 2020 and will continue into 2021 and beyond!

1st February – Announced I Love Hertford’s “Good Cause” of the month for February! Throughout the month I Love Hertford will donate £5 for every new membership taken to the amazing Hertfood which provides food support for many local families who need a helping hand through the pandemic. This is a fantastic initiative and I am so happy to be supporting 🙂
30th January – Promoted Replenish Refil Zero Waste shop and help get the word out regarding their move to a new premises in town. Wishing the team here the best of luck and look forward to helping with the new launch.
30th January – Promoted Vini Cafe by Il Vino. They are now offering lunch time deliveries across town and we were happy to help spread the good news.
29th January – Helped our friends at GoGetters weekend take away post. We also negotiated a new lower minimum order amount for FREE delivery. Now I Love Hertford members get free delivery with a minimum spend of £20.
26th January – Shared an amazing image of Hertford courtesy of our local Hertford History expert. We are looking to post more historic content across our social channels as they are really well received.
25th January – Had a virtual meeting with a secret new business opening in Hertford early this year! All a bit hush hush but this new addition will see a much loved building come back to life.
24th January – We took a break for the 2021 snow! I Love Hertford recieved over 200 images of spectacular Hertford in the snow. A new gallery is in the works.
23rd January – Promoted “Home Is Where The Heart Is” a fantastic new piece from Paul Crowley and available at The Brothership Hertford. This print is raising money for the Hertford & District Food Bank.
22nd January – Helped launch “Hole In The Wall”. This is a new concept from the team at Hertford House and will feature different pop up kitchens, each bringing a new flavour to Hertford. Little Wu is the first flavour and gives a new twist on the Chinese takeaway. I Love Hertford will continue to support this great new addition to town.
21st January – Gave exposure to Classic Mobility in town. They kindly offered FREE wheelchair use for anyone needing help getting to cover vaccine appointments. Such a lovely community gesture.
18th January – The latest batch of I Love Hertford Bag’s arrive and the membership continues to grow.
17th January – I Love Hertford teams up with the fantastic Mudlarks Charity Cafe. We pledge £5 to this great charity for every new annual membership taken till the end of the month.
16th January – Appreciation post for Hertford Theatre and everyone involved with the vaccination centre. Fantastic to see and a really positive news story to share with the community.
15th January – Reported the latest positive stats relating to covid rates in the Hertford area. I Love Hertford will continue to update the local community thoughout.
14th January – Promoted Panshanger Park and plans to add a second car park, tiolets and mobile coffee space.
12th January – Published a special collection of photographs on ILoveHertford.co.uk showcasing amazing Hertford at sunrise.
11th January – Promoted the re opening of Chloe’s Pie & Mash Shop. Great to see one of Hertfords favourites open for takeaway
10th January – Published a special collection of arial photographs from local B G Drone Shots.
9th January – Celebrated “Clinton” also known as “The Smiley Man” from the Croudace new housing development.

I Love Hertford was contacted by Croudace New Homes to let us kow that the Clintons impact and positivity hasnt gone unnoticed, “his smiles are spreading to head office” Keep smiling Clinton.
8th January – Gave exposure to the new owners of the Hertford Fruit & Veg Stall in town. Really pleased to be able to support this much loved stall, central to Hertford market.
7th January – Published a special collection of photographs from local photographer and Hertford favourite, Paul Crowley.
6th January – Promoted an amazing local community gesture. The White Lion Pub in Bengeo set up a FREE fruit and veg stall for locals that need it. They wanted to give somthing back to locals who continued to support through these hard times. Post reached 5K news feeds. Awesome stuff!
6th January – Great little post about the Longmores Solicitors building. Did you know this used to be the Castle Gateway? An aim this year is to get this building onto the heritage trail and a blue plaque on the wall.
2nd January – I Love Hertford members now receive FREE DELIVERY from restaurants across town including … I’lvino – Sloppys – Turkish Kitchen – Baan Thitya – LOMO – Dinnio – Anexo – Veg Heads – Hardy Yard – Galos – Oishii – Elle’s Kitchen – Chloes Pie & Mash – Van Pizza & more! We negotiated this to increase orders to our local businesses through lockdown 3.
1st January – Today we announced plans to award our community heroes “I felt that a number of Hertford Heroes were missing from the Queens New Years Honours list … So … We will be doing our own awards to celebrate the amazing local efforts of local people throughout the past 12 months!” More to follow.
WELCOME TO 2021 Hertford
31st December – As we bid farwell to a rubbish 2020 we posted a list of all the good things which happened in Hertford over the past year. A great way to close the year with hundreds of likes, comments and shares. Happy New Year Hertford.
29th December – Showcased and promoted local artist Richard Saunders, the creator of the Topiary Cat. Check out www.thetopiarycat.co.uk to discover this amazing creation.
Christmas Rest – Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas.
22nd December – Premiered an amazing “I Love Hertford” video showcasing our amazing town. This incredible video was produced by Black Kite Productions to lift spirits the of residents during lockdown. The video was watched 6K times!
22nd December – Gave exposure to local crafting brand “Cherry Pie Makes”
22nd December – Promoted Hertfords much loved Fruit and Veg stall in town. Helped them wish Hertford a very happy Christmas. This post went viral and reached 13K local news feeds.
21st December – Helped local food delivery service “GoGetters” promote a festive competition to increase trade for our local restaurants.
20th December – Shared an awesome image of Hertford from the sky expertly captured by local Drone company B G Drone Shots. Great to support with some local exposure.
19th December – Spread the word about the life sized nativity at St Andrews Church in Hertford. Such a great festive tradion at the church. We posted to our 10K audience on social media.
18th December – Gave local promotion to shops as part of out “I Love Hertford Card” Christmas shop local campaign. promoted Fred & Ginger, Violets, A Key to Beauty and Saks Hertford.
17th December – Promoted McMullens “It wont be lonely this Christmas” campaign. This great initiative provided 1000 meals for anyone destinied to spend Christmas alone.
16th December – Gave local promotion to shops as part of out “I Love Hertford Card” Christmas shop local campaign. promoted Hertford Cake Co and Cavavin Wine shop.
16th December – Promoted a new piece of art for local artist Emma Marsden. Amazing arial illustration of Hertford. The piece raised £800 for Mudlarks Charity Garden.
15th December – Gave local promotion to shops as part of out “I Love Hertford Card” Christmas shop local campaign. promoted Intersport & Roberto Gerrards.
15th December – Gave local promotion to shops as part of out “I Love Hertford Card” Christmas shop local campaign. promoted Messages Party Shop and Rossi’s attic and Highway Cycles.
14th December – We helped Albie (10 years old from Hertford) with his fundraising for Macmillian Cancer Support. We promoted his efforts which reached 5K news feeds. Well done Albie who raised over £1200!
13th December – Launched our “Shop Local Christmas commercial!” The theme is Santa reading the “I Love Hertford Times” at home in the North Pole. As he reads through the paper lots of images with local shops are shown. the message to close is to “Support our amazing local shops this Christmas”. The commercial was very well received and we had lots of thanks from local shops. The production was part of our commitment to help boost footfall in town helping retailers to thrive.

10th December – Viral post making residents aware that the Ware foot bridge is now open to aid struggling traders in Ware. Encouraged both towns to engoy each others Highstreets. This reached 7.5K news feeds.
9th December – Advertised Morgan Alexander Estates congratulating them on thier recent award.
8th Decemeber – Posted a super positive viral piece on 30 reasons why Hertford is a great place to live. This post reached close to 6K news feeds with lots of likes, comments and shares.
8th December – Meeting with Cove Design Studio of Hertford. Door to door leaflet campaign to be rolled out in January. Great to support a local business for our design and print needs.
7th December – I Love Hertford Card Launches! This is our radical take on the shop local message. All members receive the I Love Hertford Card when they join and support I Love Hertford. The card gives the member a range of discounts and perks across town. There are around 35 different businesses involved as of December 2020. The aim is to get more people intown and using all the shops and services we have on offer. Shops pay nothing to be involved, it is totally free and organised by I Love Hertford as part of the membership.
6th December – Gave a mini promo boost to The Greyhound in Bengeo who organised a (cover safe) santa visit with snow!
6th December – Promoted the “Life Size Nativity” at St Andrews Church in Hertford
6th December – Helped local charity “Hertford” with a post to boost donations.
5th December – I Love Hertford membership packs begin delivery across Hertford.
4th December – Helped to publicise the new Hartham Leisure Centre expansion for the local council to let residents know about the investment to leisure services in 2021
3rd December – Local Talent – Posted to celebrate the Hertford Christmas lights and gave promotion to local photographer Steve Beeston who provided some great images of the town centre. Achieved 538 likes and reached 6.5K news feeds.
2nd December – I Love Hertford Membership is a huge success with 200 sign ups! The first batch are prepped for delivery to letter boxes across Hertford
1st December – Mini Promo for Oishii by Ellie, Hertford’s sushi specialist!
30th November – The Big membership Launch! Today was the day we swithched on the I Love Hertford Membership! 4 years in the making, the membership will allow I Love Hertford to grow and do more in and around Hertford to benefit the community!
30th November – Local Talent – Posted a fantastic image from local wildlife photographer Stuart Fox. We will be publishing a sseries of articles through the early part of 2021 based on the wildlife in and around Hertford. The idea is to raise awarness and pride to protect our local, natural world.
29th November – Provided much needed exposure for local social enterprise Spectrum Of Misconception. This great enterprise gives young adults with autism valuable experience in the workplace. I was thrilled to be able to promote “Zach” from Hertford delivering Christmas Cards to Mind The Gap at Hertford North.
28th November – Supported Albany Radio as part of the Shop Local message. Provided promotion online which gained a very positive response.
28th November – Promoted an independent Christmas tree seller in town with a post they went viral locally. This one post reached 8K news feeds and 424 likes.
27th November – Supported our local restaurants with promo to boost weekend deliveries over this years lockdown Black Friday.
26th November – Finalised details of a collaboration with Hertford Theatre to boost cinema attendance coming soon for Hertford residents. I Love Hertford will be working to support the theatre and upcoming improvements.
25th November – Promo for the Hertford Food Hub promoting the great work underway to bring food hampers to local families over Christmas.
25th November – Final full test carried out on the I Love Hertford Membership. Launch date set for Monday the 30th November. The membership will help to fund and expand I Love Hertford with community at the heart of its mission.
24th November – Had a very positive phone meeting with Chase New Homes to get an update on the new Bircherley Green redevelopment. Discussed some points raised by residents. The developer is excited to bring new life to the town centre for residents. They also indicated lots of interest in the retail side of the development with multiple businesses already confirmed even at this very early stage.
24th November – Supporting the Hertford Cycle Hub‘s plans to introduce a bike-ability track on Hartham Common. Hosted a poll event online with overwhelming support for the proposal.
23rd November – Promo post for award winning estate agent Morgan Alexander & Jane Maples Flowers. A fantastic festive shop front. This reached 4K news feeds with 151 likes on facebook.
23rd November – Had a meeting with Highway Cycles about potential cylcle projects to improve Hertford’s leisure offering.
23rd November – Post for the Yarn Bombers reached 13K news feeds with 867 likes. The incredible Yarn Bombers of Hertford are back once again with post box toppers. I Love Hertford will be supporting through December.
22nd November – I Love Hertford passes 8000 local followers on facebook.
22nd November – Free promotional piece for Veg Heads vegan restaurant, new to Hertford. This reached 8K news feeds with 113 comments on facebook.
21st November – Promotion for Anexo Hertford’s tapas restaurant. Assisted with the launch of home deliveries via GoGetters. Reached 4K news feeds on facebook
20th November – I Love Hertford bags arrive! 100% Sustainable, renewable and biodegradable.
19th November – Meeting with Lance James Jewellery in town to discuss ways I Love Hertford can support them into 2021.
17th November – Promoted a new piece of art for local artist Emma Marsden. Amazing arial illustration of Hertford. The piece sold out the same evening and raised £200 for Mudlarks Charity Garden.
15th November – Mini promo for Leaf Cafe & Childrens Book Shop. Awesome online story time for children across Hertford.
12th November – Met with Messages in town to discuss ways I Love Hertford can assist. We also discussed some potential projects which could really brighten up the town centre.
13th November – Supported local charity “Hertfood” who have provided 40,000 meals for local families. We put a call out for donations to meet their fundraising target. The I Love Hertford community helped achieve this the same day. A new target has now been set for this amazing movement.
13th November – Supported the launch of LOMO’s home delivery service. Post reached 6K news feeds.

11th November – Got in touch with local historian Marilyn Taylor who will be sharing some amazing historic images with the I Love Hertford community.

8th November – Promo for Hardy Yard Pizza feedback “Thank you I Love Hertford. We had to stop deliveries after the first hour because we got so busy.”

6th November – Lockdown support page created on website to support residents.

5th November – Created a post to support Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shop to help with trade during lockdown. Promoted click and collect / home delivery services.
4th november – I love Hertford Cards arrive. Part of our ambitious Shop Local campaign. I chose an ethical company to produce the cards. Fully recyclable they also plant a clump of trees with every batch.
4th November – Had a meeting with Giambrone’s in town to discuss how we can collaborate and how we can support this great business moving into 2021.
3rd November – Promoted Mudlarks Charity and their fantastic efforts filling the planters with colour. Planters are in place of the orange barriers for social distancing. Cherry trees planted and will bloom in the spring time.
3rd November – Promoted Intersport to increase sales before lockdown.
2nd November – Promoted Roberto Gerrard to increase sales before lockdown.
2nd November – Had a meeting with with local food delivery service GoGetters who will be delivering many of Hertford’s favourite restaurants direct to dinner tables accross town during lockdown. We discussed added benefits for I Love Hertford members.
2nd November – Promoted The Womens Society to increase sales before lockdown.
2nd November – Pre lockdown promotional post to support Hertfords local businesses. Reached 9K news feeds and 323 likes.
1st November – Met with the director of Chase New Homes who are the new owners of the former Bircherley Green site. We chatted through the new Lea Wharf which is coming to Hertford and I communicated back many of the positive comments from local residents. We also chatted about local residents concerns. This was a really positive meeting and the new owners thanked the I Love Hertford community for all the support received.
